The UN Security Council on Aug 15, 1991 allowed Iraq to sell limited amounts of oil. Compensation payments to Kuwait were set at 30% of Iraq's annual oil exports. Other resolutions covered Iraqi disarmament, the Kuwait-Iraq border, and repatriation of Kuwaiti and third-country nationals from Iraq.
