In the early 1970s, fisherman Harry Brown, of Cameron, La., participated in a fish removal program in Sam Rayburn Lake in eastern Texas. His mission was to help reduce the population of a fish that was suspected of crowding out more desirable freshwater gamefish. The culprit? The carp-like buffalo fish.
