Is your 4- or 5-year-old ready for kindergarten? Are you?

With the spring ritual of school registration comes the endless questions in a parent's mind: Is my child ready? What does he or she need to know? How do I prepare my child for kindergarten? Can I trust the teacher with my child? What am I going to do when my child goes off to school?

Kay Park can sympathize. She is a kindergarten teacher at First Presbyterian Church of Granada Hills School, and her oldest child started school last fall.
