Dengue fever is a reportable disease in Germany. Surveillance data from 2001 and 2002 were analyzed and compared to travel patterns. Imported dengue fever increased strongly in this time. Most infections were acquired in Southeast Asia, specifically Thailand. The 2002 epidemic in Brazil was also reflected in these data.

Indian Oil Corp (IOC), country's largest oil firm, plans to invest about Rs 190 crore in laying a pipeline from Panipat to Jalandhar to move LPG from its Panipat refinery, whose capacity is being expanded to 12 million tonnes-a-year this month. "The 275-km pipeline is being built at a cost of Rs 186.72 crore with foreign exchange component of Rs 60.3 crore," a company official said.
