En este trabajo se realiza una estimación de la cantidad de agua superficial y se analiza los conflictos de uso del recurso en la cuenca alta del rÃo Chama, estado Mérida, Venezuela. En esta región se han identificado tres condiciones en la confrontación ofertademanda de las unidades hidroeconómicas: superávit hÃdrico, déficit hÃdrico estacional y déficit hÃdrico permanente.
