Silicon Valley, synonymous with technological innovation, is applying its brainpower to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
A coalition of high-tech companies, along with the city of San Jose, the Santa Clara Valley Water District and the NASA Ames Research Center, have set a goal to reduce Santa Clara County's carbon dioxide emissions to 20 percent below 1990 levels by 2010.
