TWO inspirational Coventry people have been chosen to carry the Olympic flame on its way to the games in Athens this summer.

Laura Bateman, 19, from Cannon Hill, and Phillip Bowser, 49, from Binley, have both been chosen for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity after being nominated in a nationwide search.

It will be the first time the Olympic torch has been on British soil since 1948.
