Scientists find way to beat the Black Death.(News)

SCIENTISTS in Liverpool have uncovered a new way of predicting outbreaks of the Black Death that occur throughout the world.

Existing methods involve testing rodents that carry the disease, which is expensive and time consuming.

The Liverpool University team has found a plague epidemic occurs two years after a peak in the animals'population.

This means public health officials can monitor the rodents' burrows and prepare for an outbreak.
