Representatives from 10 of Cleveland's largest and highest-profile law firms are gathering together, not to argue or litigate, but to meet with minority-owned vendors to explore buying the goods and services they offer.

About 150 owners and executives representing 80 small, minority-owned companies are expected to attend the invitation-only "matchmaker'' event this Tuesday, May 4, at the conference center of Jones Day, said Dennis Lafferty, executive assistant to the managing partner of the giant law firm.
