For most of 2003, many printing ink manufacturers continued to suffer from the effects of the economic downturn of the past few years. However, as the U.S. economy began to improve in the later portion of the year, there seemed to be an increase in sales for most ink companies at the end of 2003. Still, no one is certain as to what challenges the future holds, and ink industry leaders can only hope that the future continues to be brighter.
