An expert on the St. Paul caves where at least three teenagers died Tuesday of carbon monoxide poisoning said he believes earlier efforts to seal off the manmade caverns may have contributed to the tragedy.
"We as a society have created a deathtrap," said E. Calvin Alexander, a professor of geology and geophysics at the University of Minnesota.
