The rivalry between David Thursfield and Nick Scheele at Ford Motor Co. is over. The winner is Jim Padilla.
In last week's executive shakeup, Thursfield, 58, who headed international operations and purchasing, will retire at the end of the month.
He jostled in the last few years with Scheele, 60, whose responsibilities are being dialed back. Scheele will remain president, but the COO position was handed to Padilla, 57.
It means that CEO Bill Ford will have a more harmonious management team and that Padilla has a stronger mandate to improve ...
