Step 1: Use a similar process to Step 1 under Perimeter Pest Control above to determine the calibration for volume per 1,000 sq. ft. For surface-feeding pests, 1 to 2 gallons is typical; while for pests living in the thatch and near the soil surface, 4 to 10 gallons is usually applied. One to three gallons per 1,000 sq. ft. is typical for ant control. Let's assume we use 3 gallons per 1,000 sq. ft.
