The Seattle area gained 1,900 new jobs last month, fueled largely by 1,100 administrative service positions, the state Employment Security Department said Tuesday.

Those gains helped give the area, which includes Bellevue and Everett, a total of 48,300 new jobs for 2005. That total accounted for nearly 61 percent of the 79,500 new positions created statewide last year.
