Cost-effective elastic articles that have improved elasticity at elevated temperatures are disclosed by Dow Chemical. The materials are particularly suited for personal hygiene items and disposable infection-control garments at body temperatures of 38[degrees]C.

Outlined in US Patent 6 667 351, the articles (e.g. films or fibres) comprise a cured, irradiated or cross-linked homogenously branched ethylene polymer, such as a substantially linear ethylene polymer.
