Troy is a sword-and-sandals epic the like of which Hollywood has never seen.

With a cost estimated at [pounds sterling]145 million, it is also, by some margin, the most expensive film ever. Based on Homer's poem The Iliad, the film details the clash of two civilisations when Paris, Prince of Troy, runs off with the Greek Queen Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world. A fleet of 1,000 Greek ships sets sail to reclaim their queen from Troy, a city whose walls are so vast they can withstand a ten-year siege.
