On March 26, Canada Post, Post Greenland, and Norwegian Post will jointly issue stamps commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Norwegian explorer Otto Sverdrup (1854-1930). From 1898 to 1902, Sverdrup and his remarkable team charted parts of Ellesmere Island and the island group to the west of Ellesmere Island that now bears the name "Sverdrup Islands."
