Challenges to the ecumenical movement: reflections in the context of globalization and the war on terror.

Before trying to identify some of the contemporary challenges to the ecumenical movement, it may be useful to restate a few of the well-known affirmations about the movement. It is a movement for the unity of the church and of humankind. It is a movement in which churches are engaged together in dealing with ethical issues. The search for unity follows the path of justice. Ecumenism is a dialogue among cultures.
