Robert J. Alexander, Chairman of the New York Tri-State Region of CB Richard Ellis, will be honored at the April 21 "Spring Ahead" Gala to benefit the Jeffrey Modell Foundation (JMF).

Mr. Alexander has been named the JMF Man of the Year and will be saluted for his commitment, compassion and dedication to children with Primary Immunodeficiencies at the 17th annual event to be held at the Plaza Hotel. Proceeds will benefit immunology research.

Senator Arlen Specter and Mrs. Joan Specter will be presented with the first annual Jeffrey Modell "Dare to Dream" award, for their vision and excellence in public service and their longstanding concern for children suffering from this disease.

The Gala Chairman of "Spring Ahead" will be Philip M. Waterman III, Executive Vice President, Reckson Associates Realty Corp. The Journal Chairman is David Maurer-Hollaender, Executive Vice President, CBRE.

According to Fred Modell, co-founder of the JMF, "Bob Alexander continues a JMF tradition of honoring the most esteemed leaders of New York City's Real Estate industry. Bob has always supported the Foundation's work and enthusiastically participated in previous Spring Ahead events. The Jeffrey Modell Foundation is honored to have Bob Alexander as this year's honoree."

During his illustrious career, Mr. Alexander has been a leading player in the New York real estate industry, having arranged more than 2.4 million square feet of real estate lease and sales transactions during last year alone.

"I am proud to be part of the Jeffrey Modell Foundation and its effort to promote research and public awareness of the Primary Immunodeficiency diseases," said Alexander. "The Foundation serves as a tireless, compassionate advocate on behalf of patients and families to assure their access to excellent and comprehensive care. It is a worthy cause and I urge all of my peers in the real estate community to get involved."

"We are honored and grateful to bestow Jeffrey's "Dare to Dream" award to Senator Arlen Specter and his wife Joan," says Vicki Modell. "Their commitment to helping children with PI has been unsurpassed. Their efforts will have a significant impact upon the one-million sufferers."

The Jeffrey Modell Foundation was established in 1987 by Vicki and Fred Modell in memory of their son Jeffrey, who died at the age of 15 of Primary Immunodeficiency--a chronic, serious and often fatal disease.
