Despite lackluster performance during the past year, the real estate market in Queens County experienced some bright spots and showed signs of underlying strength. While the lack of demand during the last part of 2003 has caused leasing velocity to become sluggish, we still saw some deals come to fruition as several large firms expanded their operations throughout the County. As a result, average asking rents remained stable at $27.29-per-square-foot.
