A group of Mount Prospect residents rallied along Route 83 Saturday in hopes of persuading village officials to build a park downtown.

The demonstrators carried signs that read "Save Central Park" and "Think Outside the Condos." They received support from passing motorists, some of whom honked their horns and gave them the thumbs-up sign.
