The Khmers Rouges come back home.

The Cambodian peace agreement failed to condemn the Khmer Rouge, and named two principle figures in its 1970s massacres, Son Sen and Khieu Samphan, as representatives on the Supreme National Council. The public fears the Khmer Rouge, but is willing to accept the agreement.

THERE is a certain irony to the return, AL set for November 17th, of Son Sen, the defence minister of the Khmers Rouges, to Phnom Penh. In 1975 Mr Son Sen organised the final assault on Phnom Penh and the subsequent evacuation of its entire population. He later served as a chief executioner for the Khmers Rouges, ...
