JACKIE McNAMARA last night insisted he was robbed of a blatant penalty as Celtic crashed out of the UEFA Cup.

But the Celts skipper admitted it was poor defending rather than poor decisions which saw their European adventures end a month earlier than they had wanted with last night's 2-0 defeat meaning they suffered a 3-1 aggregrate loss.

McNamara certainly had a point about the penalty claim as he was clearly barged over in the box by Villarreal's Rodolfo Arruabarrena in the first half with the score at 1-0. But it wasn't all doom and gloom ...
