Although the play most definitely is the thing at the Stratford Festival of Canada in southwest Ontario, it is not the only thing.

Far from it.

For a city of just under 30,000, Stratford is incredibly sophisticated, perhaps not so surprising considering its international following and the big-name actors it attracts. It plays to audiences of more than 600,000 a season, with nearly a quarter-million tickets purchased by American patrons alone.
