COROLLA -- The Currituck Beach Lighthouse, which is already drawing hundreds of people for the new season, could be forced to close unless it conforms to county ordinances.

County officials have directed Sheriff Susan Johnson to issue a notice Monday to the owner of the lighthouse, Outer Banks Conservationists, to follow the rules or be forced to close in 10 days, Johnson said Friday.
