"CAUGHT IN A STEEL trap" might best describe the current situation in which steel users find themselves.

While steelmaker Nucor Corp., whose mills in Mississippi County employ more than 1,300 workers and help make it the largest steel producing county in the country, foresees a doubling of earnings in its first quarter, its customers are reeling from recent and expected price increases.
