Then: In the October 1999 issue of The Wenatchee Business Journal, Kevin and Heather Knight were featured for the bakery they opened in Cashmere in January of 1996.
When the Knights moved from the Seattle area to Leavenworth in 1994, they missed the fresh breads found in bakeries throughout the big city.
They wanted to open a business to fill that void but didn't even know how to make the bread they wanted to sell.
They learned the art of baking and received help from the Service Corps of Retired Executives to learn how to operate a business.
