ST. LOUIS _ Madison Philipak was worried about the guinea pig in her kindergarten class. It had developed a knot on its face, and the knot was swelling. The bigger the knot got, the more Madison worried. And the more Madison worried, the more she insisted that someone call her mother, because, she said, her mother helps sick animals.
When the call finally went out, Madison's mother agreed to look at the ailing classroom animal to see what she could do.
