"You write for a newspaper?" asked Anderson Wheatley. "Will you help me get my pictures in your paper?"

As a writer for this paper, I am often asked for help in getting a press release in. In 14 years of writing for newspapers, this was the first time I had received a request regarding photography.

What made the request more unusual is who it came from -a picture-popping kindergartner.
