PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local PT PLN (PERSERO) currently operates 41 hydropower plants that have an aggregate generating capacity of 3,266 Mw per year. In addition PLN also operates coal- fired power and geothermal power stations.

However, in order to forestall a forecasted shortage in the country's power supply, PLN will reportedly have built 72 new hydropower plants by 2014.
