In the wake of the 1997's crisis, the country's cooking oil industry grew rapidly. In the 1998-2002 period, the production of cooking oil increased 21.6% annually on the average--from 2.19 million tons to 4.63 million tons. The surge in cooking production was recorded mainly in the production of CPO_based cooking oil.
An increase in CPO exports will not affect supplies on the domestic market. The price remains stable despite growing demand ahead of religious festivities ...
