A nearly five-year Chukchansi Indian tribal membership dispute is at the core of a federal investigation into alleged Indian law violations.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs asked the tribe in October for all documents related to the 1999 disenrollment of nearly 200 members, most of them descendants of Daisy Liedkie, a former tribal chairwoman.
The tribe has not complied with that request despite a 30-day dead...
