Negotiations.

Mr Fischler reported that the accession negotiations between the EU and Bulgaria on agriculture (one of its four remaining negotiation chapters) were being prepared "in a spirit of close and fruitful collaboration", nurturing hopes that it would be possible to comply with the envisaged schedule for the negotiations, not least in the farm sector. The Commissioner remarked that he had done his best to do his part towards the two sides' "common goal".
