RB Furniture's new top brass to pare chain to just the Southland

Operating under new management and ownership, debt-burdened RB Furniture Inc., a Los Angeles fixture in furnishing retailing for decades, will shutter 21 out-of-state stores in a major restructuring, according to company documents.

The 35-year-old retailing operation intends to keep open its 30 Southland shops, despite difficult economics.
