Israel promotes land bridge.(World Report)

A RAIL land bridge from the Israeli port of Ashdod, north of the Gaza strip, to the southern port of Eilat and the Jordanian port of Aqaba is being promoted by the Israeli ministries of transport and finance.

Ministers see potential for transporting freight from the Far East to Europe and North Africa via Israel. They hope to make Israel a key transhipment point, increasing business for Israeli and Jordanian ports, and contributing to the development ...
