Bi-Mart employees wondering whether to liquidate a big chunk of their retirement savings for a chance to purchase the company have a lot to consider before making a final decision.

While each employee must measure the merits of a risky proposal against individual financial circumstances, all Lane County residents have a substantial stake in Bi-Mart remaining an independent retailer headquartered in Eugene.
