Crompton appoints former Dow executive president and CEO.(Robert Wood)

Crompton has named Robert Wood president and CEO, effective immediately. Wood most recently served as business group president/thermoset and Dow Automotive at Dow Chemical. He announced his departure from Dow last month (CW, Dec.17, p. 45). He replaces Vincent Calarco, who will remain as chairman of Crompton until his retirement later this year; a specific date has not been set, Crompton says. Crompton says the appointment is in accordance with its management succession plan. Wood was also elected as a member of Crompton's board of directors.
