Thornhill House in Putney should be one of the most revered historic properties in London - part of a larger royal residence built in 1670 and given by Charles II to his niece, the future Queen Anne, when she was aged five.
The original house was built in Wandsworth and it was where Anne spent her quiet childhood, away from the debauchery of the Restoration court, recently dramatised in the bodice-ripping BBC miniseries Charles II, starring Rufus Sewell.
