Mother Nature walloped the state with her most potent storm of the season Saturday, uprooting trees, flooding highways, dusting the valley with snow and forcing dozens of residents along the Mohawk River to flee to higher ground.

The storm brought torrential rain from the California-Oregon border to Washington state, prompting flood warnings on several rivers. The Lane County Sheriff's Office implemented a voluntary evacuation for residents of Sunderland Road and adjacent side streets in Marcola as the Mohawk River ...
