Verizon's Rivals Seek Antitrust Inquiry in New Jersey.

Jan. 29--A group of Verizon's competitors asked the state attorney general Wednesday to investigate possible antitrust violations by Verizon and other Baby Bells.

The request is the latest made by a group of competitive telephone companies which has made similar requests in other states including California, New York, Texas, and Massachusetts.

The rival companies say proof of the regional Bells' violations came during a meeting last fall.
