FYI: Why isn't there a ban on TV sets in landfills in Dane County, or Wisconsin, for that matter? I thought they were designed similar to computer monitors, with a cathode ray tube and just as much lead in them. So why are they accepted?

Arguably, we'd be better off burying the dim bulb shows and banning the boob tubes.

John Reindl, Dane County recycling manager, says that while hazardous waste from commercial sources is banned, an exemption allows cathode ray tubes in landfills.
