Seiners head for court in Maritimes herring feud: blockades on Prince Edward Island mark battle with New Brunswick over boundary line.(Canada)

As the Maritimes herring season ended in early December, a fetid between Prince Edward Island inshore fishermen and New Brunswick seiners was hound for court.

The dispute included blockades on Prince Edward Island of trucks carrying catches from New Brunswick boats, physical confrontations, and the arrests of 14 Prince Edward Island fishermen.

The New Brunswick seiners obtained court injunctions against Prince Edward Island and some Nova Scotia inshore fishermen who were also revolved. Now the seiners plan to bring lawsuits against the Prince Edward Island ...
