EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The 25 properties with the highest assessed value in L.A. County had aggregate taxable worth of $17.7 billion in 2003. The list is still led by the J. Paul Getty Center, though there was movement among other properties because of accounting adjustments.

Because the county's tax record keeping system was unable to accommodate properties with assessed values greater than $1 billion, it has started shifting some parcels or portions of parcels to its "cross-referenced" tax roles, which include mineral ...
