Coast strike ends; strikers lose jobs

A seven-week strike staged by drivers and other union workers at San Diego's largest beer hauler, Coast Distributing Co., has ended in a victory for Coast and lost jobs for 72 strikers replaced by the company.

Of the 107 union workers who went on strike June 16, 35 had returned to work without a contract by Aug. 5, the day the remaining strikers voted to end the strike.
