So Gore Vidal ends his historical novel, Julian, which tells the story of the fourth-century emperor Julian the Apostate (459). At the Catholic college where I teach, when we hear about the light and man's love for it, we may assume that the author is referring to God and love of God. "A new sun and another day" might suggest the coming of the Savior, or Christian salvation. "Time's mystery"? ...
