Matthew Fox, the theologian other theologians love to disparage, came to Toronto to give a series of workshops on the weekend of Sept. 19 to 20. The former Catholic priest, now a priest of the Church of England, heads the University of Creation Spirituality (UCS) in Oakland, California ,where he promotes as he has for over 25 years, creation spirituality. Fox is one of several influential theologians (Thomas Berry, Rosemary Ruether and Larry Rasmussen among them), who take creation and the cosmos as the primary sacrament.
