AMD and the Beijing Peking University Founder Group Corporation, a sizeable 18-year-old university spin-out with 5,000 employees, plan to establish a new joint Platform Development Lab in Beijing to integrate and develop non-PC appliances beginning with home digital media centers based on AMD's Alchemy and Geode widgets.
