The Association for Individual Development is poised to receive a federal grant that would allow it to build a new center in Elgin for its job-training program that helps disabled young adults.
House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert announced this week that the House has approved a $3.2 million grant for Aurora-based Association for Individual Development, which serves people living with developmental and physical disabilities in Kane, Cook, Kendall and DeKalb counties.
