Excuse the powdered sugar on the corners of my mouth. I've just devoured three mini doughnuts from Daily Dozen Donuts straight out of the paper bag.

During my first weekend in Seattle after moving here in 2000, I spent a gloriously sunny morning walking through Pike Place Market. Even though it was chilly, I had a silly grin on my face the whole time, because the Market made me feel at home in the city.
