The issue of nuclear power in Wisconsin heated up today as proposed legislation was debated that would remove two restrictions on construction of nuclear power plants.

State Rep. Mike Huebsch, R-West Salem, has introduced a bill that would repeal a section of state law that says the Public Service Commission cannot approve construction of a plant unless the commission finds that sufficient storage is available for high-level waste and that the costs of the plant are economically advantageous for ratepayers.
